Artist Overview

Laura began her pottery journey in February of 2020, finally indulging in a lifelong desire to explore the art of throwing pots by taking an Intro to the Wheel course with the Transylvania Community Arts Council. During that first course, Laura discovered a true love of pottery and looked forward to taking many more courses and developing a hobby. However, as Covid-19 became a reality and the world went into lock-down she had to explore other options. Fortunately, she was introduced to Brevard`s wonderful pottery community through Mud Dabbers Pottery and was able to continue learning the basics of throwing pots to achieve a consistent form. Thanks to John Dodson who allowed her to throw cups for his annual Christmas event, she spent most of the lock-down in front of the wheel throwing hundreds of small tumblers and loved every minute of it.
